International Conference on “Interconnection of Times and Civilizations” Opens in Turkmenistan
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Today, the International Conference “Interconnection of Times and Civilizations – the Basis of Peace and Development” was officially inaugurated in the capital under the chairmanship of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The high-level forum, held in the large conference hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, welcomed an array of distinguished leaders, including the President of the Republic of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, the President of Mongolia, Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The forum also attracted numerous high-profile guests, including the Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Türkiye, the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan within the Russian Federation, the Chairman of the UNESCO General Conference, as well as heads of international organizations, foreign government officials, renowned scientists, cultural figures, and diplomats.
This international conference is a central part of the extensive celebrations marking the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and philosopher, Magtymguly Fragi. These festivities include numerous events, both within Turkmenistan and abroad, aimed at commemorating his enduring legacy.
The primary objectives of the forum are to promote the classical heritage of Magtymguly Fragi, explore the interconnectedness of the languages and literatures of Eastern peoples, highlight his role in the development of national statehood, and acknowledge his profound contributions to the treasury of universal spiritual values. This gathering serves as a platform for fostering dialogue on the enduring relevance of cultural heritage in the pursuit of global peace and development.
