Iran Condemns US ‘Unlawful Interventions’ in Venezuela, Expresses Solidarity with Maduro Government

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denounced what it described as “unlawful interventions” by the United States in Venezuela’s internal affairs, reaffirming Tehran’s solidarity with the people and government of the Latin American nation.
In a statement posted on X late Friday, the ministry said the “interventionist behavior and rhetoric” of US officials toward sovereign states, including Venezuela, have “unprecedentedly undermined the fundamental principles of the UN Charter and international law.”
The remarks came after Washington announced a $50 million reward for information leading to the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, accusing him of drug trafficking. The Iranian ministry described the move as “a growing addiction among US policymakers to militant unilateralism and unlawful coercive measures” in pursuit of “illegitimate foreign policy objectives.”
“No responsible nation can remain indifferent to this dangerous trend, which targets the collective normative and ethical foundations of the United Nations,” the statement added.
Venezuela also strongly rejected the US reward offer — double the $25 million bounty set by the Trump administration in January. Foreign Minister Yvan Gil called it a political stunt and a violation of Venezuela’s sovereignty, while Attorney General Tarek William Saab labeled it a “ridiculous and shameless” act.
