Azerbaijan and Iran Presidents Discuss Ceasefire, Bilateral Cooperation in Phone Call

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, held a telephone conversation on April 8 with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, during which the two leaders discussed recent regional developments and bilateral cooperation.

During the call, President Aliyev extended his congratulations to the Iranian leadership on the recently announced ceasefire between Iran and the United States, expressing hope that the development would contribute to reducing tensions and fostering stability in the region.

President Pezeshkian conveyed his appreciation for the congratulatory message and expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for its humanitarian assistance extended to Iran.

The two leaders also exchanged views on various aspects of bilateral relations, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran across areas of mutual interest.
