Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has emphasized that expanding economic relations and increasing the volume of trade between Tehran and Islamabad are top priorities for both nations.

Ghalibaf made the remarks during a meeting with Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, held in Islamabad on Thursday.

Expressing his gratitude and appreciation for the warm hospitality extended to the Iranian delegation, Ghalibaf said, “We thank the people of Pakistan for their support of the Iranian people against the aggression of the Zionist regime. This support demonstrates the deep and friendly relations between the peoples of Iran and Pakistan.”

He noted that the solidarity displayed by both nations in challenging times reflects the strength of their long-standing ties, expressing confidence that his visit would serve to further deepen cooperation between the two countries—particularly at the parliamentary level.

“Iran and Pakistan have numerous common interests that enable them to cooperate against the greed of the Zionist regime and its supporters,” Ghalibaf stated. “We can work together on many political, economic, and cultural matters, and we aim to deepen these relations during this visit.”

Highlighting the importance of economic development and trade cooperation, the Iranian Parliament Speaker underscored that one of the main goals of his visit was to expand economic ties and enhance bilateral exchanges between the two nations.

For his part, Ayaz Sadiq recalled that during the recent attacks by the Zionist regime against Iran, the Pakistani Parliament strongly condemned the aggressions through a formal resolution. “From our perspective, Israel is the common enemy of both Iran and Pakistan,” Sadiq affirmed.

Both sides reiterated their commitment to strengthening cooperation across various sectors, including political dialogue, economic development, and cultural exchange, with a shared vision of promoting peace and stability in the region.
