Iran ready to share capabilities with Sri Lanka: Iranian President

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has underscored the impressive progress made by the Islamic Republic across various sectors and expressed a willingness to share these capabilities with friendly nations, including Sri Lanka.

During a meeting with Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabry in Tehran on Sunday, President Raisi applauded the steadily evolving relations between the two nations, and said huge potentials exist that could provide a platform for further enhancing bilateral ties.

“Various countries in the world, including Sri Lanka, possess abundant potentials for progress, which could lead to growth and prosperity if not hindered by colonial and self-serving foreign interventions,” he noted.

President Raisi also called for more active engagement of the joint economic commission between Iran and Sri Lanka.

In response, Sri Lanka’s top diplomat praised Iran’s outstanding achievements, especially in scientific and technological sectors.

Sabry also said Iranian companies were actively present in Sri Lanka and expressed a willingness to further expand cooperation with the Islamic Republic in economic, technological, and medical spheres.
