Iran, Russia Sign Cooperation Document in Moscow

Moscow

Moscow, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday signed a cooperation document following talks in Moscow, further strengthening bilateral relations between Iran and Russia.

The document was signed at the conclusion of the meeting between the two top diplomats, during which they reviewed the current state of relations and prospects for future cooperation.

Speaking after the signing ceremony, Araghchi said bilateral ties between Iran and Russia have expanded significantly in recent years, particularly in the current year with the signing of the Comprehensive Strategic Treaty. He noted that the treaty has accelerated cooperation between the two countries and is now in force.

“The Comprehensive Strategic Treaty has further strengthened our relations, and we are moving forward based on its vision,” Araghchi said.

The Iranian foreign minister added that the newly signed document establishes a consultation program for the years 2026 to 2028, which will serve as a roadmap for cooperation between Tehran and Moscow over the next three years.

The agreement is expected to provide a structured framework for continued political and diplomatic coordination, as well as broader bilateral engagement in line with the strategic partnership between the two countries.
