Regional Stability

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud reaffirmed the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation to bolster regional stability during a meeting on Monday in Jeddah.

The talks were held on the sidelines of the extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers, convened to address the escalating crisis in Gaza.

According to reports, the two top diplomats discussed the latest regional and international developments, with a particular focus on the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza amid ongoing Israeli aggression. They underlined the urgent need for coordinated action among Islamic countries to halt the aggression, ensure the swift delivery of humanitarian aid, and counter what they described as dangerous expansionist projects by the Israeli regime.

Reviewing the recent progress in Tehran–Riyadh relations, both sides expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of bilateral ties. They emphasized the importance of continued consultations and broader cooperation across political, economic, security, and regional domains.

The ministers further highlighted the pivotal role of Iran-Saudi cooperation in fostering regional stability and promoting an order based on dialogue, mutual respect, and non-interference in internal affairs.

Leading a diplomatic delegation, Minister Araghchi arrived in Jeddah on Sunday to take part in the extraordinary OIC session. The meeting aimed to address the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, coordinate urgent relief efforts, and examine the legal and political implications of Israel’s plans for the permanent occupation of the besieged enclave.
