Iran, Turkmenistan Leaders Highlight Need for Peace Amid Global Challenges

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has underscored the urgent need for greater understanding among nations, stressing that the world today requires trust, peace, and unity more than ever.

President Pezeshkian, who is in Turkmenistan to attend the International Peace and Trust Summit, held a meeting with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan, in Ashgabat on Friday.

Expressing gratitude for the invitation to the summit, Pezeshkian described the initiative as a timely response to one of the fundamental needs of the contemporary world. He praised Turkmenistan’s leadership for promoting a constructive approach that he said was extending “to the region and beyond,” enabling joint efforts to strengthen trust, peace, and regional security.

Berdimuhamedov welcomed Pezeshkian’s visit and highlighted the complexity of current global conditions, noting the growing need for regular dialogue and mutual consultation among nations. He described bilateral relations between Iran and Turkmenistan as strong and constructive across multiple fields, including trade, commerce, culture, and humanitarian cooperation. “We hope that this cooperation will continue to expand in the future,” he added.

President Pezeshkian arrived in Ashgabat on Thursday evening, where he was received by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan responsible for economic and financial affairs.
