Iran: 2 Dead, 8 Injured as Floods Sweep

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Two people were killed and eight others injured on Thursday in flash floods that swept areas in northwestern Tehran.


The flash floods swept Emamzadeh Davod village resulting in the death of two people and injury of eight others, Managing General of Iran’s Red Crescent Society Shahin Fathi said , elaborating that the search for missing victims was still ongoing.


Heavy rain hit earlier today Shamiran village, north of the capital Tehran; the city of Pakdasht in eastern Tehran and Malard county between governorates of Tehran and Barz, causing flash floods, he said.
Rescue teams and the military forces have rescued the victims due to accidents emanating from the floods, he added.
