Iranian Energy Minister Arrives in Baghdad to Strengthen Energy Cooperation

Baghdad, The Gulf Observer: Iran’s Minister of Energy, Abbas Aliabadi, arrived in Baghdad on Sunday evening to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation with Iraqi officials, particularly in the energy sector.
Upon his arrival at Baghdad International Airport, Aliabadi and his accompanying delegation were welcomed by Iraq’s Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadel. The two sides are set to hold detailed discussions on the development and stability of energy collaboration between the two nations.
This visit follows the official trip of an Iraqi government delegation, led by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, to Tehran last week. During that visit, Aliabadi and Fadel held talks on electricity exchanges and the export of technical and engineering services.
Key topics discussed during those talks included the repair of 5,000 transformers in Iraq, the involvement of Iranian companies in the supply of equipment, the construction and repair of power plants, and the importance of training and knowledge exchange between the two countries.
Minister Fadel also extended an invitation to Iranian companies to play an active role in Iraq’s electricity sector. It was agreed that Aliabadi would further pursue these matters during his visit to Iraq, with the involvement of the private sector to ensure long-term energy stability and cooperation.
