Iranian Foreign Minister Condemns Attacks on Starving Civilians in Gaza as War Crimes

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has strongly condemned the targeting of civilians waiting for humanitarian aid in Gaza, describing such attacks as “clear examples of war crimes and crimes against humanity.”
In a statement posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday, Araqchi criticized the Israeli military for attacking lines of starving Palestinians waiting for bread, water, and basic aid, calling the actions of the Israeli regime both “criminal” and “inhumane.”
“Gaza remains a symbol of resistance and oppression,” he wrote, adding that the “astonishing and tireless perseverance” of Gaza’s men, women, and children over the past 22 months has once again demonstrated their unwavering spirit despite ongoing atrocities.
Araqchi accused the Israeli regime of employing “shameless tactics” such as enforced hunger and thirst, stating, “The criminal Israelis have spared no means, not even the tactic of imposing forced thirst and hunger on the defenseless people of Gaza. Yet, they have failed to break their firm determination.”
The Iranian Foreign Minister also held the international community and Western advocates of human rights accountable for their silence and inaction. He pointed specifically to the deaths of 1,000 civilians at aid distribution centers, whom he said were trapped in “death traps” created by the U.S. and Israel, and over 600 individuals who perished due to shortages of food, water, and medicine during the prolonged siege.
“The international community and the so-called human rights advocates in the West must be held accountable,” he stated, warning that “history and awakened human consciences will rightly judge this inaction.”
Araqchi’s comments come amid growing global outcry over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, which has persisted under siege conditions and repeated military operations.
