Iranian, Iraqi Presidents Condemn Israeli Regime as Obstacle to Regional Peace

New York, The Gulf Observer: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that the Israeli regime remains the main obstacle to peace and stability in the region. He made the remarks during a meeting with Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Friday.
President Pezeshkian criticized what he described as the destructive policies of the Israeli regime, stating that its very foundation rests on violence and crime. He called the regime’s actions a “cancerous tumor” in the region, responsible for instability and aggression against neighboring countries.
Highlighting attempts by external powers to sow division, Pezeshkian stressed that the enemies of Islamic nations are persistently working to deepen rifts and create problems among Muslim countries. “There is no reason for conflict among Muslims,” he said, adding that adversaries continuously seek to exploit differences and incite discord within communities, including in Iran and Iraq.
The Iranian president also praised Iraq for fulfilling its commitments and underscored the deep religious, cultural, and ethnic bonds between the two countries. He expressed optimism for the further development and strengthening of bilateral ties.
For his part, President Rashid emphasized that Iran and Iraq enjoy close and ideal relations, describing the two peoples as one united nation sharing a common destiny. He affirmed Iraq’s readiness to expand cooperation with Iran across political, economic, and cultural spheres.
Rashid echoed Pezeshkian’s condemnation of Israel, calling the regime’s aggressions against Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran a cancerous tumor in the region. He said the unprecedented pride Israel takes in its violent actions would eventually face a firm response from the peoples of the region.
