Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Baqeri, has reaffirmed that Iran does not seek war, but will resolutely defend itself against any form of bullying or aggression.

Speaking on Sunday morning at the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, General Baqeri addressed commanders, officials, and personnel of the General Staff, emphasizing Iran’s commitment to peace and regional stability while standing firm on national principles.

Commenting on U.S. President Donald Trump, Baqeri described him as a “narcissist and bully”, noting that Trump has recently come into conflict with both allies and adversaries alike. He also referred to Trump’s March 12 letter to Iran, stating that the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, had delivered a strong and appropriate response.

“Iran is not the initiator of conflict,” Baqeri said, “but will respond decisively to any act of aggression.” He reiterated that Iran does not pursue nuclear weapons and will not engage in direct negotiations with the United States, citing America’s history of unreliability in past talks.

General Baqeri emphasized that Iran’s defense strategy is shaped by past experiences and based on clear directives from the country’s leadership. He also claimed that recent operations, such as the True Promise campaign, revealed the vulnerabilities of the Israeli regime, which he referred to as the “Zionist regime.”

He condemned the ongoing Israeli military actions in Gaza and Lebanon, accusing international human rights organizations of double standards and silence in the face of alleged atrocities.

“The killing of innocent civilians and destruction of homes continues with the direct support of the U.S. and European nations,” Baqeri stated, calling for global accountability and justice.

The general concluded by underscoring Iran’s strategic objective: to defend its interests, promote national progress, and advance toward a peaceful and self-reliant future.
