Iranian President and FM Confirmed Dead in Helicopter Crash, Announces H.E. Reza Amiri Moghadam

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Reza Amiri Moghadam, the Honorable Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, has confirmed the tragic deaths of President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian. The announcement comes following a helicopter crash during their mission to inaugurate a developmental project with a neighboring country.

“Utmost dejected and grievously dolorous, I have to announce that President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian embraced Shahadat as a consequence of a helicopter crash,” stated Ambassador Moghadam.

The helicopter crash occurred on Sunday afternoon in the Varzaqan region of East Azerbaijan province. The Iranian delegation was returning from a ceremony to inaugurate a dam on Iran’s border with the Republic of Azerbaijan when the tragic incident took place.

The crash site was located after hours of extensive search operations in challenging mountainous terrain and adverse weather conditions. Despite the rapid response and efforts of rescue teams, no survivors were found at the crash site.

The loss of President Raisi and Foreign Minister Amirabdollahian marks a significant and sorrowful moment for Iran, as the nation mourns the loss of its esteemed leaders.
