Iranian President Highlights Excellent Ties with Tajikistan

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has described relations between Iran and Tajikistan as being at an excellent level, stating that the foundation has already been laid for the expansion of bilateral cooperation in key areas including trade, economy, science, politics, and security.
President Pezeshkian made the remarks on Sunday in Tehran during a meeting with Tajikistan’s Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin, who is visiting Iran to participate in the Tehran Dialogue Forum 2025.
Pezeshkian emphasized the potential for both countries to promote engagement between their business communities, industrial sectors, and academic institutions, with the shared objective of advancing prosperity for their respective peoples.
During the meeting, Foreign Minister Muhriddin conveyed warm greetings from Tajik President Emomali Rahmon to President Pezeshkian, and lauded his recent speech at the Tehran Dialogue Forum. The Tajik diplomat commended Pezeshkian’s call for dialogue, interaction, and friendship in international affairs, describing it as an “undeniable necessity” in today’s global context.
Muhriddin also noted the desirable level of cooperation between Tehran and Dushanbe across various fields, particularly trade, politics, and tourism. He affirmed Tajikistan’s interest in expanding collaboration within regional and international organizations.
Referring to the mutual visa waiver agreement between the two nations, the Tajik minister said the policy serves as a valuable foundation for enhancing tourism and strengthening people-to-people exchanges.
Foreign Minister Muhriddin is among several senior officials and diplomats attending the Tehran Dialogue Forum 2025, a two-day event which has drawn participation from representatives of 53 countries as well as delegates from the United Nations.
