Iranian Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf Arrives in Tajikistan
Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Speaker of Parliament Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf arrived in Dushanbe on Wednesday night, leading a parliamentary delegation to Tajikistan. This visit marks a significant diplomatic engagement aimed at strengthening bilateral relations.
During his stay, Qalibaf is scheduled to hold discussions with several top Tajik officials, including President Emomali Rahmon, Chairman of the National Assembly Rustam Emomali, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohammad Taher Zakerzadeh. The meetings will focus on exploring avenues for expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in the cultural and trade sectors, among other areas of mutual interest.
In addition to his diplomatic meetings, Qalibaf will participate in a conference commemorating the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Constitution, where he is expected to deliver a speech. The conference will be held over the course of Thursday and Friday, highlighting the importance of constitutional governance and the rule of law in the region.
This visit underscores Iran’s commitment to enhancing its ties with Central Asian nations, particularly in light of the shared cultural and historical ties between Iran and Tajikistan.
