Israel Systematically Uses Quadcopter Drones to Target and Kill Palestinian Civilians
Brussels, The Gulf Observer: In a comprehensive investigation released on February 19, the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, a non-profit organization dedicated to safeguarding human rights, unveiled shocking evidence documenting Israel’s systematic deployment of quadcopter drones to target and attack Palestinians with the explicit intent of causing harm and casualties.
The Euro-Med report highlights a concerning shift in the Israeli military’s tactics, as it has transitioned from employing quadcopters solely for intelligence purposes to deploying them as lethal weapons against civilians. The organization alleges that Israel is deliberately targeting unarmed civilians in various settings, including shelter centers, hospitals, streets, and densely populated residential areas.
According to Euro-Med’s findings, these civilians, who are primarily non-combatants, pose no threat or danger to anyone, as they are not involved in any hostilities. The rights monitor condemned Israel’s actions as a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, which prohibits the deliberate targeting of civilians during armed conflicts.
One particularly distressing incident highlighted in the report occurred on January 11, when Israeli quadcopter drones opened fire on Palestinians gathered to receive flour delivered by United Nations trucks. The indiscriminate attack resulted in the tragic deaths of at least 50 people.
The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor calls on the international community, human rights organizations, and relevant authorities to investigate these allegations thoroughly and hold those responsible for the intentional targeting of civilians accountable. The organization urges the immediate cessation of such practices, emphasizing the need to protect the rights and lives of Palestinian civilians caught in the midst of conflict.
As the global community closely monitors the evolving situation, concerns grow about the escalating use of technology for lethal purposes and the impact on civilian populations. The Euro-Med report serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for international intervention to address and prevent further atrocities against innocent civilians in the region.
