Israeli Army Storms Balata Refugee Camp in West Bank

West Bank, The Gulf Observer: Late Saturday, for the fourth time in 24 hours, the Israeli army stormed the Balata refugee camp in eastern Nablus, located in the northern part of the occupied West Bank. This incursion, marked by heavy gunfire, the deployment of snipers, and the arrival of reinforcements, was accompanied by a bulldozer, according to the Palestinian news agency, Wafa.
Social media activists shared videos purportedly showing military reinforcements heading towards the camp, and clips with the sounds of gunfire, which they claimed were from clashes between Palestinian groups and the Israeli army.
The Israeli forces withdrew late Saturday after an hours-long raid that witnesses and Palestinian medical sources reported resulted in the deaths of two Palestinians and injuries to dozens.
This operation comes amid an intensification of Israeli military raids in the occupied West Bank, coinciding with a fierce offensive on Gaza. Official Palestinian data reports that these actions have led to 592 deaths and approximately 5,400 injuries in the West Bank.
The ongoing conflict has heightened tensions across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. Since October 7, the Israeli offensive in Gaza has claimed nearly 39,300 lives, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region.
