Istana Nurul Iman Concludes 1446 Hijrah Ramadhan Tedarus Ceremony with Khatam Al-Quran
Bandar Seri Begawan, The Gulf Observer: The annual Ramadhan Tedarus ceremony for 1446 Hijrah at Istana Nurul Iman, which commenced on the first night of Ramadhan, concluded on Saturday evening with a solemn Khatam Al-Quran ceremony at Baitur Rahmah, Istana Nurul Iman. The event was graced by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Sanggamara Diraja Major General (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Ibnu Basit bin Pengiran Datu Penghulu Pengiran Haji Apong.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Chief Syar’ie Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar, followed by the recitation of Al-Quran verses from Surah Ad-Dhuha to Surah Al-Masad.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman led the recitations, with state dignitaries taking turns in accordance with protocol.
The event continued with the mass recitation of Takhtim and Tahlil, accompanied by Doa Khatam and Tahlil, read by Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Awang Hamidon bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Hamid.
Adding to the spiritual atmosphere, the ceremony was further enlivened with Dikir Syarafil Anam, performed by Begawan-Begawan Pehin Khatib and Begawan-Begawan Mudim, under the leadership of Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Awang Hamidon.
To seek divine blessings, a Doa Selamat was recited by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Salim.
The ceremony was attended by Cheterias, Cabinet ministers, Legislative Council members, deputy ministers, and Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan, underscoring the significance of the annual tradition in fostering spiritual unity and devotion during the holy month of Ramadhan.
