Jakarta Implements Traffic Management for Presidential Inauguration on October 20
Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: The Jakarta government has announced a comprehensive traffic management plan in preparation for the inauguration of President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka on Sunday, October 20, 2024.
Syafrin Liputo, Head of the Jakarta Transportation Office, confirmed on Saturday that the traffic arrangements will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to ensure smooth proceedings for the 2024-2029 presidential term inauguration.
The traffic management measures will impact several key routes across the city:
- East to West (Pasar Senen to Tomang): Alternative route via Gunung Sahari Street, Dr. Sutomo Street, and Suryapranoto Street.
- West to East (Tomang to Pasar Senen): Suggested path includes Tomang Raya Street, Balikpapan Street, and Juanda Street.
- North to South: Routes include Ir. H. Juanda Street, Pos Street, and Ridwan Rais Street towards Rasuna Said.
- North to South (alternate): Via Gunung Sahari Street and Kramat Raya Street.
- North to East (Tanah Abang to Pancoran): Via KH Mas Mansyur Street, Prof. Dr. Satrio Street, and Casablanca Raya Street.
- West to East (Slipi to Pancoran): Alternate route via Slipi I Street and KH Mas Mansyur Street.
- West to East (Petamburan to Pancoran): Alternative via KS Tubun Street and Casablanca Raya Street.
- East to West (Manggarai to Palmerah): Suggested route via Galunggung Street.
- West to East (Palmerah to Manggarai): Via Tentara Pelajar Street and Penjernihan I Street.
- East to North (Pancoran to Tanah Abang): Route includes Gatot Subroto Street and KH Mas Mansyur Street.
- East to South (Pancoran to Blok M): Via Jenderal Gatot Subroto Street and Kapten Tendean Street.
- South to North (Blok M to Tanah Abang): Suggested route via Sisingamangaraja Street, Asia Afrika Street, and KH Mas Mansyur Street.
Liputo further informed that traffic flow on Jenderal Gatot Subroto Street would gradually reopen after the president and vice president proceed from the parliamentary complex to Merdeka Palace.
Residents are advised to avoid these streets during the specified hours and to adjust their travel plans accordingly. Train passengers traveling through Gambir Station are urged to account for possible delays.
“Please follow traffic signs, listen to officer instructions, and prioritize safety on the road,” Liputo emphasized.
