Japanese Parliamentary Delegation to Embark on Visit to Turkmenistan

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: A distinguished Japanese parliamentary delegation, led by the Chairman of the Japanese-Turkmen interparliamentary friendship group and member of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament, Toshiaki Endo, is scheduled to embark on a significant three-day visit to Ashgabat, commencing on May 12, as reported by the International Information Center (IIC).
The visit aims to delve into pivotal matters of collaboration between Japan and Turkmenistan, as articulated by Japanese Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Hiroshi Sasaki. Ambassador Sasaki highlighted the visit’s significance in fostering robust bilateral dialogue and cooperation, particularly at the legislative level.
In a meeting with representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Ambassador Sasaki underscored the forthcoming visit’s role in bolstering the ongoing development of bilateral relations. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to leveraging parliamentary diplomacy to bolster intergovernmental cooperation, fortify the legal framework underpinning bilateral ties, and exchange best practices in legislation.
This anticipated visit follows the Turkmen delegation’s successful trip to Tokyo in February 2024, led by the Chairman of the Mejlis, Dunyagozel Gulmanova. The visit was instrumental in further deepening inter-parliamentary bonds between Turkmenistan and Japan, laying the groundwork for enhanced collaboration across diverse spheres.
As preparations unfold for the Japanese parliamentary delegation’s visit to Ashgabat, expectations are high for substantive discussions and constructive outcomes that will further strengthen the enduring friendship and cooperation between Japan and Turkmenistan.
