Jokowi Leads Final Onward Indonesia Cabinet Meeting in Nusantara

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: On Friday morning, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) chaired the final meeting of his Onward Indonesia Cabinet, marking the closing chapter of his presidency. The meeting took place at the Garuda Palace and was attended by all cabinet ministers.

“This is the last cabinet meeting of the Onward Indonesia Cabinet,” President Jokowi stated as he opened the session. He expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation for the dedication and hard work of his ministers in carrying out their duties and implementing his programs and visions for the nation.

The president noted that the cabinet will be officially disbanded on October 20, 2024, when President-elect Prabowo Subianto is inaugurated and formally takes over the presidency.

Jokowi urged his ministers to ensure the smooth continuation of ongoing programs and to complete any outstanding tasks in their remaining time in office. He stressed the importance of maintaining key areas such as the people’s purchasing power, economic growth, and the stability of security and order.

“Refrain from implementing overly extreme policies, especially those affecting the people’s livelihood, which could harm the common people or lead to discord,” Jokowi cautioned his cabinet.

In his final month as president, Jokowi has also begun working from Indonesia’s new capital, Nusantara, starting on September 12. He will continue to do so until October 19, 2024, while also conducting working visits to various regions across the country.
