President Mirziyoyev Welcomes Turkish Ministers for Strategic Talks
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: On September 12, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received a high-level delegation from the Republic of Türkiye, which included the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, the Minister of Interior, Ali Yerlikaya, and the Director of the National Intelligence Organization, İbrahim Kalın.
The delegation conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes to President Mirziyoyev from the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. During the meeting, the two sides discussed key issues related to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Türkiye, following up on the agreements reached during President Mirziyoyev’s official visit to Türkiye on June 6-7, 2024.
The fruitful outcomes of the joint meeting between ministers and agency heads of both nations were acknowledged, with an emphasis on the importance of continuing regular and systematic contacts as outlined in the adopted roadmap. The discussion also highlighted the need to expand the scope and agenda of future negotiations.
Key topics included deepening political dialogue, promoting trade, and advancing economic and investment cooperation. Special attention was given to enhancing interdepartmental coordination and collaborative efforts to address modern security challenges and threats.
Additionally, both sides exchanged views on current regional cooperation and their roles within international organizations.
