Kazakh Film Triumphs at XX Kazan International Film Festival
Kazan, The Gulf Observer: Zhanarbek Yeleubek, the cinematographer of the Kazakh film Bauyryna Salu (The Brother), has been awarded “Best Cinematographer of a Feature Film” at the prestigious Altyn Minbar International Film Festival, held in Kazan. The recognition was announced by the press service of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Culture and Information, NHC reports.
The film, produced with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information and the State Center for Support of National Cinema, has garnered widespread acclaim at various international film festivals. Directed by Askhat Kuchinchirekov, Bauyryna Salu made its global debut at the San Sebastian Film Festival and has since received multiple awards, including the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Debut in Kazakhstan and the Best Youth Film Award at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA).
The XX Kazan International Film Festival, which took place from September 6-11, brought together filmmakers from 40 countries, further highlighting the event’s significance in promoting cultural exchange and recognizing cinematic excellence.
