Kazakh Foreign Minister Attends Joint CSTO Ministerial Meeting on Regional Security

Astana, The Gulf Observer: Kazakhstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Yermek Kosherbayev participated in the joint meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers, and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils, according to media reports and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Joining him on the Kazakh side were Gizat Nurdauletov, Secretary of the Security Council, and Dauren Kossanov, Minister of Defense, the MFA press service confirmed.
During the meeting, the member states exchanged views on key international and regional security challenges, reviewing developments throughout the year and outlining priority areas for the Collective Security Treaty Organization’s (CSTO) agenda in 2026.
In his remarks, Minister Kosherbayev presented Kazakhstan’s vision for enhancing cooperation within the CSTO framework. He also proposed several measures to deepen collaboration and strengthen the Organization’s effectiveness amid evolving security dynamics.
The participants approved the agenda and draft documents to be submitted to the upcoming session of the CSTO Collective Security Council, marking an important step in advancing coordinated regional security policies.
