Kazakh Majilis Speaker Attends Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha, Reaffirms Support for Qatar

Doha, The Gulf Observer: Speaker of the Majilis of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Koshanov, participated in the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit held in Doha, Qatar, the Chamber’s press service reported.
Addressing the plenary session, Koshanov outlined Kazakhstan’s position on resolving international conflicts, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts to address escalating crises.
On the sidelines of the Summit, Koshanov met with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. In turn, Sheikh Tamim expressed gratitude for Kazakhstan’s support and highly appreciated the country’s stance regarding Israel’s military actions.
The Majilis Speaker underscored that the Middle East is facing serious geopolitical challenges, and the convening of the Emergency Summit was necessitated by a sharp escalation in the international situation. He reaffirmed that Kazakhstan strongly condemns Israel’s military actions in the territory of Qatar, stressing that President Tokayev was among the first leaders to voice such a position and extend strong support to Doha.
“Regardless of the motives behind the attack, such actions are absolutely unacceptable. They violate the sovereign rights of the State of Qatar and contradict the principles of international law. This assault harms not only the security of a single country but also the peace and sovereignty of all nations that adhere to the frameworks of the international order,” Koshanov stated.
He also drew attention to the tragic events in Gaza, noting that from the onset of the conflict, President Tokayev has consistently called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and for the provision of humanitarian assistance to its civilian population.
