Turkistan, The Gulf Observer: During an official visit to the Turkistan region, Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov paid a visit to the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, reaffirming the Kazakh government’s commitment to preserving this iconic architectural marvel and UNESCO World Heritage Site.

According to the Kazakh Government’s press service, Prime Minister Bektenov utilized this opportunity to assess the advancements made in the implementation of President Tokayev’s directives aimed at safeguarding the historical significance of the mausoleum.

The Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi stands as an integral component of a sprawling architectural and historical complex in Turkistan, drawing over a million visitors annually. Reconstruction efforts commenced last August, with ongoing restoration works currently underway.

In previous directives, President Tokayev underscored the imperative nature of revitalizing this cultural treasure, highlighting its intrinsic value to Kazakhstan’s heritage.

During his inspection, Prime Minister Bektenov reiterated the profound importance of preserving the legacy of the mausoleum, emphasizing its significance not only to the Kazakh populace but to humanity at large.
