Astana, The Gulf Observer: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has congratulated grandmaster Bibisara Assaubayeva on her victory at the FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships in Qatar, where she claimed the women’s world blitz championship title, the presidential press service Akorda reported on Tuesday.

With this achievement, Assaubayeva entered the history of world chess as an outstanding master and became the first Kazakhstani to win the women’s world blitz title three times.

“The entire chess community of Kazakhstan is rightfully proud of our compatriot, who raised our state flag high on the global stage,” President Tokayev said in a congratulatory message.

In recognition of her exceptional success at international tournaments and her significant contribution to the development of chess in Kazakhstan, the president also announced his decision to award Bibisara Assaubayeva the Order of Barys, 2nd Class.

The 21-year-old grandmaster secured her third world blitz crown after defeating two-time champion Anna Muzychuk of Ukraine 2.5–1.5 in the final match of the championship held in Qatar.

Assaubayeva’s latest triumph further cements her status as one of the leading figures in women’s chess and underscores Kazakhstan’s growing prominence on the global chess stage.
