Kazakhstan Commits to Assisting Afghanistan in Developing Digital Government

Astana, The Gulf Observer: Kazakhstani digital innovations, including Data Lake, Smart Bridge, and Gov.kz, took center stage during the official visit of a Kazakh delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin to Afghanistan, as reported by media outlets.

Deputy Prime Minister Zhumangarin emphasized Kazakhstan’s leading position in transitioning public services to online platforms, highlighting the nation’s commitment to sharing its expertise and best practices with Afghan partners. Additionally, he underscored the priority of connecting schools to the internet, expressing readiness to support efforts ensuring access to education for all schoolchildren.

Among the key discussions was the possibility of enhancing internet traffic in Afghanistan from 60 to 100 gigabits per second through commercial cooperation between Kazakhtelecom and Afghantelecom.

The official visit also witnessed the participation of 35 Kazakhstani companies, which showcased their diverse array of products and services at the Kazakhstan-Afghanistan Business Forum and a themed exhibition held in Kabul. This initiative aimed to foster bilateral business ties and explore avenues for collaboration between the two nations.

The exchange underscores Kazakhstan’s commitment to leveraging digital solutions and fostering economic partnerships to contribute to the socio-economic development and connectivity of Afghanistan.
