Kazakhstan declares National Mourning Day on October 29

Astana, The Gulf Observer: Kazakhstan has declared the National Mourning Day on October 29 due to the accident occurred in the mine of Kostenko in Karaganda region, which has so far killed 22 people, according to media reports.

It was informed that the National Mourning Day was declared by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who met the family members and close ones of the mine workers died as a result of the accident and offered his condolences.

The Kazakh President stressed that the circumstances of the accident are to be determined as well as the necessary assistance in rescuing the miners and to the families of those injured and killed is to be provided.
