Kazakhstan Highlights Growing Trade Relations with Italy

Kazakhstan

Astana, The Gulf Observer: Minister of Trade and Integration Arman Shakkaliyev outlined the progress and prospects of Kazakhstan–Italy trade and economic cooperation, noting that Italy remains one of Kazakhstan’s key trade partners, media reported.

“In the first six months of 2025, commodity turnover reached $10.1 billion, of which $9.4 billion accounted for exports. We have taken measures to boost wheat exports, while supplying sunflower oil could become a promising new direction for our trade. In addition, exports of metal products have increased sixfold. Oil, however, remains the main export item,” Shakkaliyev stated.

His remarks came as President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev formally welcomed Italian President Sergio Mattarella at the Akorda Residence. The two heads of state are expected to discuss opportunities to further enhance bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, and cultural-humanitarian fields.
