Kazakhstan Offers Turkistan as Venue for Iran Talks in Ministerial Call

Astana, The Gulf Observer: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Yermek Kosherbayev, held a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, to discuss the evolving situation in the Middle East and key aspects of bilateral cooperation, the Foreign Ministry’s press service reported.
During the call, the two ministers exchanged views on regional developments, with Kosherbayev expressing concern over the situation surrounding Iran. He reiterated Kazakhstan’s readiness to facilitate peace efforts by offering the city of Turkistan as a venue for potential negotiations.
The proposal aligns with the earlier initiative put forward by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, underscoring Astana’s commitment to supporting diplomatic solutions and regional stability.
Both sides also agreed to maintain ongoing dialogue on matters of mutual interest and to further strengthen bilateral relations through continued engagement.
