Kazakhstan Sets Guinness World Record for Largest Gathering in National Attire on Nauryz Celebration

Aktau, The Gulf Observer: On the occasion of the Nauryz celebration, a historic achievement was made in Kazakhstan as 5,000 people dressed in Kazakh national attire gathered in Aktau, setting a Guinness World Record in the category of “The largest number of people in Kazakh national clothes.” The event, organized under the banner of “Best Fest Nauryz,” was reported by the press service of the akimat of the Mangistau region.
More than 5,500 individuals registered for the record-setting attempt, underscoring the commitment to promoting the cultural heritage of the Kazakh people on a global stage. Participants included workers from various industries, representatives of ethnic groups, elderly citizens, and residents who traveled from remote villages and other regions of the country.
The official ceremony took place along the Caspian coast at a specially designated venue, where representatives of the Guinness Book of Records from the United Kingdom meticulously verified and recorded the attendance. After several hours of counting, the results confirmed compliance with the established criteria, and Kazakhstan was officially recognized as the holder of a new world record. A special certificate was presented to mark this achievement, solidifying the Kazakh national dress’s place in the Guinness Book of Records.
Akim of the Mangistau region, Nurdaulet Kilybay, highlighted the significance of this milestone in promoting Kazakhstan’s rich cultural traditions internationally and congratulated all attendees on the Great Day of Nauryz.
“We are witnessing a historic moment on this significant day of Nauryz meiramy. He further referenced President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s remarks at the IV National Qurultay in Burabay, emphasizing that the Nauryz holiday is a fundamental part of Kazakhstan’s national identity. He noted that under the President’s initiative, a new concept, Nauryznama, was introduced, extending the celebrations for ten days from March 14, beginning with the Amal holiday, each day carrying its own symbolic significance.
Guinness World Records representative Richard Stanning, who presented the official certificate, congratulated Kazakhstan on its historic achievement.
“Dear Kazakhstanis, you have set a record on the auspicious occasion of Nauryz, your most cherished national holiday.
