Kazakhstan to open innovative startup hub in Saudi Arabia

Astana, The Gulf Observer: Kazakhstan is to open an innovative startup hub in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Kanysh Tuleushin, Kazakh vice minister of digital development, innovation, and aerospace industry, said, according to media reports.

As the vice minister said, Kazakhstan initiated the creation of a joint innovative hub for domestic startups and technological companies to open their offices and expand their reach not only in Saudi Arabia but also in the Middle East and North Africa.

The innovative hub created jointly with the Digital Entrepreneurship Center of the Ministry of Digital Development of Saudi Arabia is set to be launched in January next year.

There is an initiative from the private sector willing to invest in the project. The familiar hub operates in Silicon Valley with 24 startups so far, one of which has attracted over $1mln, said the Kazakh vice minister.
