Kazakhstan unveils honorary consulate on Canary Islands
Canary Islands, The Gulf Observer: Kazakh ambassador to Spain Danat Mussayev paid a working visit to the Spanish autonomous community – the Canary Islands. The Kazakh diplomat held talks with president of the Canary Islands Fernando Clavijo Batlle and subdelegate of the Spanish Government in the Canary Islands Maria Teresa Mayans, according to the reports of press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting saw an exchange of views on the current issues of regional cooperation.
As part of the visit, the Kazakh ambassador attended the roundtable held jointly with the commerce and industry chamber of the region. During the event, the ambassador draw the attention of the representatives of business circles to the priority of developing economic interaction between the regions of the countries, as well as harnessing the transit potential of Kazakhstan to transport cargo between Europe and Asia.
The visit’s highlight was the solemn opening of the honorary consulate of Kazakhstan on the Canary Islands.
Addressing the event’s participants, Mussayev stressed that the expansion of the geography of the institution of honorary consulates in Spain contributes to the development of Kazakh-Spanish cooperation as well as proves the strategic nature of relations between the countries.
It is the fourth honorary consulate of Kazakhstan in Spain.
