Kazakhstani Athletes Compete at 6th Ethnosport Culture Festival in Istanbul
Istanbul, The Gulf Observer: Athletes from Kazakhstan’s Republican Federations Audaryspak and Tenge ilu are set to showcase their talents at the 6th Ethnosport Culture Festival, which runs until June 9. According to Kazinform News Agency, the festival brings together up to 1,000 athletes and cultural representatives from over 20 countries, celebrating national sports, applied arts, cuisine, and music.
The festival features a range of activities, including competitions in various traditional sports, exhibitions of applied arts, tastings of national dishes, and musical performances. As part of the event, a yurt representing the 5th World Nomad Games was set up to inform guests about the upcoming games scheduled to take place in Astana this fall.
On the first day of the event, Kazakh wrestlers on horseback, Birzhan Kosaliyev and Syrym Izbassarov, demonstrated their skills. Both athletes are highly acclaimed, being multi-time champions of Kazakhstan and Asia, and winners of the 2nd World Nomad Games. Additionally, Kazakhstani team members Nariman Assimzhan and Azat Tulkibai presented the national sport Tenge ilu.
During the festival, President of the World Ethnosport Confederation, Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, held meetings with the heads of the national sports federations, emphasizing the importance of preserving and promoting traditional sports and cultural heritage.
The Ethnosport Culture Festival continues to serve as a platform for fostering international cultural exchange and preserving traditional sports, with Kazakhstan playing a significant role in this vibrant celebration.
