Nairobi, The Gulf Observer: Kenyan government has announced significant progress in both education and security sectors, highlighting transformative initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for citizens.

Education Sector Advancements

In the field of education, the government has constructed 16,000 classrooms for junior secondary schools and recruited 76,000 teachers to enhance learning environments and reduce class sizes. Additionally, the number of poor children benefiting from the school feeding programme has increased from 2.25 million in 2022 to 2.6 million in 2025, promoting better nutrition and school attendance.

Technical and vocational education has also seen substantial growth, with student enrolment increasing by 42 per cent, from 340,713 to 484,313 in 2025. In higher education, the government has provided scholarships to 113,140 learners, amounting to Sh12.74 billion, while 112,741 students received loans totaling Sh12.63 billion.

Security Sector Improvements

The government has taken comprehensive measures to strengthen security. A total of 545 police officers have been promoted, and 7,578 houses for the National Police Service along with 28,000 houses for prison officers have been constructed to improve living conditions and morale.

To further boost security operations, the government has acquired assorted security equipment and two high-capacity personalisation passport printers, significantly increasing the daily printing capacity from 1,400 to 5,000 passports.

These developments reflect the government’s commitment to enhancing educational access and security infrastructure, contributing to the nation’s sustainable development and social well-being.
