KEZAD Group and Metal Park Launch First Phase of State-of-the-Art Storage Hub in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD) Group and its strategic client, Metal Park, have announced the launch of the first phase of Metal Park’s state-of-the-art Storage Hub in KEZAD Free Zone.
The Metal Park Storage Hub is set to offer world-class storage solutions and support services to businesses in the region. It is the first independent warehouse dedicated exclusively to metal storage and features the world’s first pay-as-you-go solution tailored for the metal industry.
The AED110 million project will be completed in three phases, with a combined storage capacity of 350,000MT and 54,000CBM of shelved storage designed specifically for metals. The first phase, spanning 93,000 sqm, will include 26 overhead cranes capable of lifting up to 40MT and 55 loading bays for trucks and automated guided vehicles (AGVs). The facility is designed to handle 48,000MT of loading and offloading per day.
Additional advanced features of the Storage Hub include vertical storage capabilities, a truck loading system with a cantilever structure, and three weighbridges — two at 15 meters with a 150MT capacity each and one at 30 meters with the same capacity. The hub operates as a gated community with 24/7 surveillance and security.
Strategically located within KEZAD Free Zone, the Storage Hub has direct access to Khalifa Port via a modular road, the Etihad Rail network, and major highways connecting Abu Dhabi to the Northern Emirates and the broader GCC region.
Abdullah Al Hameli, CEO of Economic Cities and Free Zones at AD Ports Group, commented, “The opening of this innovative Storage Hub marks a significant milestone for Metal Park and AD Ports Group’s Economic Cities & Free Zones. It represents our ongoing commitment to fostering industrial growth and contributing to the diversification of Abu Dhabi’s economy.”
Saleh Shahrestani, Chairman of Metal Park, emphasized that the facility, as the region’s first metal fulfillment center, will help traders and stockists reduce overhead costs in the fluctuating metal market. He added that it would enhance manufacturers’ capabilities, enabling them to expand their distribution networks while optimizing production space for increased productivity and efficiency.
