Khorfakkan Hosts Arab Cycling Day Competitions with Over 300 Participants

Sharjah, The Gulf Observer: Khorfakkan celebrated Arab Cycling Day with an exciting event organized by the Arab Cycling Federation, featuring the participation of 300 cycling enthusiasts. The annual celebration, observed on October 30, aimed to promote cycling as a vital sport.

The competition commenced from the scenic Khorfakkan Waterfall and covered a distance of approximately 10 km. Notable figures in attendance included Sheikh Faisal bin Hamid Al Qasimi, President of the Arab Cycling Federation; Dr. Omar bin Hunaifa, member of the Sharjah Sports Council; and Dr. Yasser Omar Al-Dokhi, Director of the Sports and Community Events Department.

Sheikh Faisal expressed his delight at the substantial turnout and enthusiastic participation, emphasizing the successful collaboration between the Sharjah Sports Council and the UAE Cycling Federation. He highlighted the UAE’s commitment to fostering sports and community activities, particularly cycling, which promotes physical well-being and environmental conservation.

The event showcased Khorfakkan’s beautiful landscapes while encouraging a healthy lifestyle among participants, reinforcing the significance of cycling in the region.
