King Mohammed VI Congratulates Saudi Leadership on Founding Day, Reaffirms Strong Bilateral Ties

Rabat, The Gulf Observer: King Mohammed VI has extended his heartfelt congratulations to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the occasion of Saudi Arabia’s Founding Day.
In his message, the Moroccan monarch conveyed his best wishes to the Saudi people for continued progress and prosperity under the Kingdom’s wise leadership. Saudi Founding Day commemorates the establishment of the first Saudi state in 1727 by Imam Muhammad bin Saud, marking a pivotal moment in the country’s rich historical legacy.
Morocco and Saudi Arabia maintain strong and friendly diplomatic relations, characterized by regular high-level exchanges and cooperation across various sectors. Riyadh has consistently expressed its support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its southern provinces in Western Sahara.
Economic ties between the two nations have also witnessed remarkable growth. Bilateral trade surged by 228 percent, rising from $1.33 billion in 2021 to $4.37 billion in 2022. Recent data indicates that Morocco ranked 26th among Saudi Arabia’s export trading partners and 38th in imports.
Trade between the two countries is largely driven by Saudi oil and petrochemical exports, while Morocco supplies agricultural and fisheries products, automotive components, textiles, and other goods to the Saudi market.
Further strengthening economic cooperation, a high-level delegation from the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce visited Morocco in June last year. The delegation included over 30 Saudi investors and representatives from various government agencies, aiming to explore new investment opportunities and deepen collaboration between Rabat and Riyadh.
The continued exchange of diplomatic and economic initiatives reflects the enduring partnership and shared vision for prosperity between the two brotherly nations.
