KSrelief Launches New Humanitarian Projects in Syria

Damascus, The Gulf Observer: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched a new package of humanitarian projects in Syria during the ongoing visit of a KSrelief delegation headed by its Supervisor General, Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah. A land-based relief bridge was also inaugurated at a ceremony held in Damascus on Sunday.
The projects cover key sectors including food security, health, community support, water and sanitation, education, shelter, and rehabilitation, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s commitment to alleviating the suffering of the Syrian people and reflecting the historic and brotherly ties between the two nations.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Al-Rabeeah highlighted the Kingdom’s longstanding support for Syria. “Since its establishment in 2015, KSrelief has allocated more than 454 humanitarian projects to Syria, valued at over SR5.25 billion, out of a total exceeding SR28 billion provided by the Kingdom,” he said.
He noted that Saudi Arabia’s support extends beyond financial aid, encompassing decades of hosting Syrians and providing them access to free education and healthcare, as well as organizing humanitarian convoys inside Syria and to refugee camps in neighboring countries.
Dr. Al-Rabeeah stressed that humanitarian work is a core part of Saudi Arabia’s identity and a principle rooted in solidarity among nations. He praised the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for institutionalizing this approach through KSrelief’s operations, which now reach 108 countries worldwide, with Syria among the foremost beneficiaries.
“The Kingdom will remain a haven for those in need and a supporter of peoples on their journey toward recovery and prosperity,” Dr. Al-Rabeeah reaffirmed, while extending thanks to the Syrian president, government officials, and institutions for their cooperation in facilitating KSrelief’s mission and enabling its teams to carry out their humanitarian and medical work.
During the visit, the KSrelief delegation will launch and sign several additional relief, humanitarian, and volunteer initiatives, further consolidating Saudi Arabia’s role as a key humanitarian partner for Syria.
