Largest-Ever International Travelers’ Delegation Visits Khankendi

Khankendi, The Gulf Observer: A large delegation of international travelers, led by Harry Mitsidis, founder and head of the NomadMania, visited the city of Khankendi as part of their broader tour of Garabagh and East Zangezur.

During the visit, the travelers toured Victory Park, where they were briefed on the city’s history and the significance of the site. Officials highlighted that the park symbolizes the resilience, courage, and heroism of the Azerbaijani people in their efforts to restore territorial integrity and achieve victory during the 44-day Patriotic War.

The delegation also visited the Victory Arch, where members took commemorative photographs, marking their presence at one of the key landmarks in the city.

Comprising 79 travelers from 37 countries, the group represents the largest international delegation to visit Karabakh and East Zangezur to date. The visit holds particular importance in promoting the region internationally, especially within the growing niche of “dark tourism,” while also providing firsthand insight into ongoing reconstruction and restoration efforts in the liberated territories.

According to organizers, this marks the 16th visit arranged by major international traveler clubs to Garabagh and East Zangezur between 2020 and 2025, reflecting increasing global interest in the region’s post-conflict development and cultural significance.
