Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei Delivers Nowruz Message

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has delivered a message on the occasion of Nowruz, marking the beginning of the Iranian New Year, 1404 AHS (March 20, 2025). In his address, he reflected on the past year’s challenges and achievements, emphasized the importance of economic investment, and called for unity among the Islamic Ummah in response to ongoing global events.
Ayatollah Khamenei opened his message with a supplication, invoking divine blessings for the transformation of circumstances in the new year. He noted that the beginning of 1404 AHS coincides with the sacred nights of Qadr and the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (pbuh), expressing hope that these occasions would bring divine mercy upon the Iranian nation and the broader Islamic world.
Reflecting on the events of the past year, the Leader likened them to the hardships of 1981, highlighting the tragic loss of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi (ra), along with other prominent figures in Tehran, Lebanon, and Damascus. He acknowledged the economic challenges faced by the Iranian people, particularly in the latter half of the year, and praised their resilience in overcoming adversity.
Ayatollah Khamenei commended the Iranian nation’s unity and fortitude, pointing to the widespread participation in the funeral ceremonies of President Raisi and the seamless transition of leadership through timely elections. He also lauded the Iranian people’s solidarity with Lebanon and Palestine, emphasizing the generosity of Iranian women and men who contributed resources to support their suffering brothers and sisters in the region.
Turning to economic matters, the Leader reiterated the importance of investment in production, identifying it as a key priority for national progress. He stated that while efforts were made under the previous year’s slogan, “Surge in production through people’s participation,” unforeseen events had hindered full realization of its goals. Consequently, he declared the new year’s slogan as “Investments for Production”, underscoring the necessity of public and governmental efforts to boost industrial growth and economic stability.
Ayatollah Khamenei urged the government to create favorable conditions for investment while encouraging citizens to channel capital into productive sectors rather than speculative ventures. He stressed that economic development requires strategic planning and coordinated action between the state and private sector.
Addressing recent global events, the Leader condemned the renewed Israeli attacks on Gaza as a severe crime, urging the Islamic Ummah to stand in solidarity against such aggression. He also called upon freedom-seekers worldwide to oppose these atrocities, holding the United States accountable for its complicity in the conflict. Additionally, he decried the attacks on Yemen, demanding an immediate cessation of hostilities against Yemeni civilians.
Concluding his message, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed hope for a year of prosperity, unity, and divine blessings for the Iranian nation and the entire Islamic world. He prayed for the continued guidance and protection of the Imam of the Time (Imam Mahdi), the satisfaction of Imam Khomeini’s spirit, and the acceptance of the sacrifices made by martyrs.
With his message, the Leader set a course for the year ahead, emphasizing resilience, economic growth, and collective responsibility in addressing both national and international challenges.
