Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva Meet Bangladesh Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus in Dhaka

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, Leyla Aliyeva, accompanied by the head of Baku Media Center, Arzu Aliyeva, paid a visit to Dhaka, the capital of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
On December 7, as part of the visit, Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva held a meeting with Chief Adviser of Bangladesh’s Interim Government, world-renowned economist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus.
During the meeting, the sincere greetings of President Ilham Aliyev were conveyed to Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus. It was noted that Professor Yunus has made numerous visits to Azerbaijan over the years, including his participation in COP29 in November 2024, met multiple times with President Ilham Aliyev, and has always been warmly welcomed in the country.
The sides emphasized the traditionally friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Bangladesh and their successful cooperation across various formats.
Professor Yunus was informed that Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva visited an institution in Dhaka providing care for orphaned and homeless children.
It was highlighted that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and IDEA Public Union are interested in cooperating with relevant institutions in Bangladesh in the areas of humanitarian and social initiatives, youth and volunteer programs, environmental protection, and other fields, with the aim of implementing joint projects.
Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus expressed fond memories of his meetings with President Ilham Aliyev during his multiple visits to Azerbaijan and asked that his warm greetings be conveyed to the head of state. Referring to their meeting at COP29, he underlined the vast potential for effective cooperation between the two countries and stressed the importance of advancing practical initiatives.
Professor Yunus praised Azerbaijan’s significant achievements in various sectors and expressed his deep appreciation for the efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation and implement meaningful support programs.
