Leyla Aliyeva Attends EcoMind 2025 Conference to Promote Environmental Awareness Among Youth

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of IDEA Public Union, Leyla Aliyeva, participated in the EcoMind 2025 conference held on November 2 at the European Azerbaijan School.

Jointly organized by the IDEA Public Union and the European Azerbaijan School, the conference aims to foster environmental responsibility among children and youth, while encouraging the integration of ecological knowledge and green thinking into school curricula.

Prior to the opening ceremony, Leyla Aliyeva toured an exhibition showcasing handicrafts made by schoolchildren that reflected their perspectives on environmental challenges, potential solutions, and the importance of nature conservation.

In her address, Leyla Aliyeva emphasized the vital role of young people in environmental initiatives and underscored the significance of instilling a strong sense of ecological responsibility from an early age. She noted that nurturing each child with environmental values is essential to ensuring the country’s sustainable and green future.

Other speakers also shared insights on enhancing environmental education in schools, strengthening youth engagement in ecological activities, and aligning educational efforts with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The event featured an artistic program highlighting environmental themes and creative expression.

Being held for the first time, the EcoMind 2025 conference is expected to become an annual tradition, serving as a new platform for collaboration in environmental education. The event brought together more than 450 participants from 30 universities, 20 public schools, and 21 private and international educational institutions across Azerbaijan.
