Liu Yang Secures China’s First Gymnastics Gold at Paris Olympics
Paris, The Gulf Observer: On Sunday, Liu Yang claimed China’s first gymnastics gold medal of the Paris Olympics, triumphing in the men’s rings event. The defending champion delivered an impressive performance, scoring 15.300 points to secure a 1-2 finish for China.
Liu’s compatriot, Zou Jingyuan, earned the silver medal with a score of 15.233. The bronze medal went to Greece’s Eleftherios Petrounias, the Tokyo 2020 bronze medalist, who posted a score of 15.100.
Samir Ait Said, the sole male athlete representing host nation France in artistic gymnastics, finished in fourth place with a score of 15.000.
Liu Yang’s victory not only marks a significant achievement for China but also sets the tone for the nation’s gymnastics team at the Paris Olympics.
