Malaysian Girls Strike Gold at International Friendship Youth Championship in Doha

Doha, The Gulf Observer: The Malaysian girls’ bowling team delivered an outstanding performance to secure gold at the International Friendship Youth Championship in Doha on Friday (Feb 13), marking a significant achievement for the national youth squad.
The quartet of Qurratu’Ain Izdihar Pozi, Intan Nor Edryana Nor Azliman, Natalie Chong and Nur Aleeya Syakirah Awang Ali topped the standings with an impressive total of 5,311 pins. The Philippines claimed second place with 4,991 pins, while the Czech Republic finished third with 4,879 pins.
The victory marked Malaysia’s first gold medal in the tournament, following earlier successes by Qurratu’Ain, who secured two bronze medals in the singles and doubles events alongside Intan.
In the boys’ category, Malaysia also put up a strong showing, earning silver through the team of Ethan Damien Goh, Mohd Hafiz Darwisy, Mohd Zarif Ikram and Mohd Aiman Syahin. The team accumulated 5,543 pins, finishing behind the Czech Republic, which took gold with 5,662 pins. Singapore secured bronze with 5,530 pins.
Earlier in the competition, Ethan and Zarif had added to Malaysia’s medal tally by winning bronze in the doubles event, further highlighting the country’s promising youth bowling talent on the international stage.
