Kuala Lumpur, The Gulf Observer: Malaysian wushu athlete Lee Jia Rong delivered a dazzling performance at the World Wushu Championships in Brasília, Brazil, clinching the women’s daoshu gold medal on Saturday.

Jia Rong scored 9.726 points, tying with Hong Kong’s Michelle Yeung. However, the Malaysian debutant was awarded the top spot based on the higher difficulty level of her routine. Japan’s Kana Ikeuchi secured the bronze with a score of 9.723 points.

The triumph marked Jia Rong’s second medal of the competition, following her bronze in the women’s gunshu event earlier in the week.

With one day of competition left, Malaysia has so far captured four gold, one silver, and one bronze medal. Si Shin Peng accounted for two gold medals in the men’s qiangshu and jianshu categories, while Tan Cheong Min secured gold in the women’s nangun event.

Jia Rong’s victory further cements Malaysia’s growing presence on the world wushu stage, showcasing the nation’s depth of talent and competitive spirit.
