Mass Pro-Palestine Rally Held in Istanbul to Protest Israeli Genocide in Gaza

Istanbul, The Gulf Observer: Tens of thousands of pro-Palestine demonstrators gathered in Istanbul’s Beyazit Square on Saturday evening following evening prayers to denounce Israel’s ongoing genocide and forced starvation in Gaza.
The demonstration, which drew participation from non-governmental organisations and large numbers of the public, proceeded with a march toward the historic Ayasofya Mosque.
Protesters sought to raise awareness of the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza and express solidarity with its people amid severe shortages of food and medical supplies. Organisers urged the international community to take immediate action to end the suffering and halt the violence.
Israel has faced growing global condemnation for its military campaign in Gaza, which has killed more than 61,000 people since October 2023. The offensive has devastated the enclave and caused widespread deaths from hunger and starvation.
In November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice over its actions in the territory.
