Moroccan and Ghanaian Military Chiefs Meet in Rabat to Strengthen Defense Cooperation

Rabat, The Gulf Observer: General Mohamed Berrid, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), received General William Agyapong, Chief of Defence Staff of Ghana, on Tuesday at the FAR General Staff headquarters in Rabat.

General Agyapong is undertaking a working visit to Morocco from September 28 to October 3, aimed at reinforcing defense ties between the two nations.

During the meeting, the Ghanaian military chief highlighted the importance of King Mohammed VI’s official visit to Ghana in 2017, which he said laid the groundwork for a constructive and supportive partnership. He underscored that the two heads of state share common values rooted in peace, African solidarity, and mutual respect, according to a statement from the FAR General Staff.

The discussions, attended by Ghana’s ambassador to Morocco, reflected the mutual satisfaction with the exemplary relations between the two countries. General Agyapong emphasized that his current visit marks an important milestone, creating an opportunity to advance military cooperation between the Royal Armed Forces and the Ghana Armed Forces.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further develop collaboration in various fields and expressed readiness to explore new areas of partnership to broaden the scope of their bilateral defense relations.
